Last week was a blessing to us. Emily’s aunt and uncle, Myra and Frank Reynolds of Rwanda Challenge, came bearing #coffee from #Rwanda! Before tasting it, I read 2 or 3 reviews for this bean from previous seasons, and one reviewer noticed notes of citrus, dark chocolate, and “night flowers.” This cup didn’t quite yield the dark chocolate I was hoping for, but it has a TON of citrusy/tomatoey (persimmon?) flavor in it. It’s also incredibly smooth, despite the mystery surrounding its roast date.
Overall, this is a surprisingly very flavorful bean and I am quite satisfied with this cup. 🙂
